MAPLEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL EMERGENCY DRILL

This from the Maplewood Middle School principal today:

Dear Maplewood Middle School Community Member,
Approximately 90 minutes ago our school conducted a required monthly emergency drill.  Since September, in addition to our fire drills, we have practiced lockdown and evacuation drills each month in accordance with State code.  During the course of this school year I have commended the students and staff for the way they have acted during the drills.
The lockdown drill that was called today was not announced while the students were in classes, but while they were in the halls passing to their next class.  We are all aware that emergencies can happen at any time.  I am pleased to report that students acted responsibly and with great maturity.  Teachers ushered students into their classrooms, lights went off, doors were locked, and students who in many cases were not with other students or teachers that they know acted exactly the way they should during a drill.
After the drill today I used the public address system to commend the students and staff for their actions during this new scenario.  I then explained why a lockdown was announced during hallway passing time.  I am writing you, our greater school community, to ask that you commend your children too.  Our students have been asked to practice drills and think about events that you and I probably did not consider when we were students.  The fact that our students approach these drills with great maturity is something we should acknowledge.
Sincerely,
Jeff Truppo

I was wondering if you ever thought of changing
the layout of your blog? Its very well written;
I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with
it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or two pictures.

Maybe you could space it out better?
