This week's rather lengthy column offered the story of 70-somethings Margie Goldsmith and Jamie Anthony, who got hitched at the church last month.
The story revealed, in part:
Margie
Goldsmith is known for her firecracker energy and a keen sense of
adventure. One friend recalled that the lithe Ms. Goldsmith entered a
triathlon in Cuba so that she could explore the country on an athlete’s
visa. Another remembered that after she learned the rudiments of playing
blues harp, she would perform exuberantly on her harmonica at every
opportunity — with Pygmies in Uganda, at a pub in Ireland, at a bar in
New York.
Jamie
Anthony is tall and courtly. A longtime friend said Mr. Anthony, a
Sandy Springs, Ga., native and a retired insurance executive, had the
quintessence of charm and the bearing of “a gentleman of the South.” Now
71, his three major passions are family, motorcycles and producing and
listening to blues bands.
But what initially brought these two people together, on July 3, 2012, was a message telescoped by a T-shirt.
