FRIDAY HILTON JITNEY WAS CANCELLED DUE TO DRIVER ILLNESS, BACK TODAY

Friday morning's Hilton jitney service was cancelled because one driver was ill and back-ups were not available, according to DPW Director Calvin Bell, who said service is back this morning.

We reported Friday that the Hilton route was not in service after a notice went out after 8 a.m., but with no other information.

We received the following note from Bell on Sunday:

Friday's AM Hilton Jitney was cancelled as our regular driver was unavailable due to illness.  Additionally DPW's potential backup drivers were also unavailable.
All jitneys will be operating Monday.
