SCARY HOME INVASION, ARMED ROBBERY LEAD POLICE BLOTTER

This just released from the Maplewood Police:


March 8, 2012: Robbery. The Police Department is investigating a home invasion style robbery that occurred on 3/8/12 at approximately 10:25 pm. The victims report that three black males armed with handguns kicked down the door to their Academy Street residence and demanded money from the residents. The suspects fled the scene in what is described as a late model Nissan product, four door color black. March 5, 2012: Theft from Vehicle. On 3/5/12, a Newark Way resident reported that unknown suspect(s) removed the factory installed tires and rims from his late model Nissan Maxima between the hours of 11:00 pm on 3/3/12 and 8:10 am on 3/4/12.

March 5, 2012: Theft. On 3/5/12, a 17 year old female and her father responded to police headquarters to report the theft of a wallet. The victim reported that while walking home from school eastbound on Parker Ave. near Coolidge Road, an unknown suspect ran up from behind her and brushed against her coat which she had been carrying. Shortly after, she checked her coat pocket and found her wallet missing. The wallet reportedly contained cash and gift cards. The victim describes the suspect as a tall black male, thin with muscles, approximately seventeen years of age. He was wearing saggy jeans, a dark shirt or coat, multi-colored hat and sneakers. He was last seen running east on Parker Avenue towards Boyden Ave.

March 6, 2012: Theft. On 3/6/12, a Rutgers Street business reported the theft of (9) batteries from trucks and chipper equipment on site. The incident allegedly occurred during the overnight hours.

March 7, 2012: Robbery. On 3/7/12, a Crestwood Drive resident reported that he was approached in his driveway by two males in their twenties. One suspect then allegedly struck the victim with the handgun. The suspects were last seen heading east on Collinwood Rd. in a black compact import car. At this time it is believed that the act was not random in nature. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
