UPDATE: DISTRICT RESPONDS - CRASHED FENCE NEAR TUSCAN SCHOOL STILL A HAZARD

UPDATE: This email was sent to us today form School District Spokesperson Suzanne Turner

A car took out 2 sections of the fence along Tuscan Road.

As always, students’ safety is our top priority.  Our buildings and grounds staff has surveyed the damage.  The metal from the fence is bent back into the foliage and does not protrude into the sidewalk, street or other pathway.  The police tape is present merely as a reminder that pedestrians should not climb into the foliage on the side of the road.

The buildings and grounds department is getting quotes to repair the damage, and will determine the timeline for repair once the contractors report on the extent of the damage.

It is unclear what happened to the iron fence outside Tuscan School along Tuscan Road recently, but it is clear something plowed into the fence in two spots, leaving a dangerous wreckage of tangled metal and some hazards for kids.

The mere police tape does little to protect curious children.

The concerns have already prompted  discussion at MOL.

School district, where are you with crews to clean it out and safen it up?
