ATTEMPTED ROBBERY AND VEHICLE-RELATED THEFTS MARK WEEK


Maplewood Police issued this notice today:

June 14, 2012: Attempted Robbery;  At approximately 1030 PM an attempted robbery occurred on Collinwood Rd.  Three black males exited a black Nissan Altima with NJ Registration and assaulted a pedestrian.  The victim was punched by actor 1, who also attempted to take his shoulder bag.  All three actors fled the scene when the victim began yelling and fought back.  All three actors were described as being 17-18 years old.  Actor 1 was approximately 5'7 in height, 140 pounds, with a dark complexion.


June 10-11, 2012: Thefts from vehicles; During the overnight hours of June 10th into the morning of June 11th, two unlocked vehicles on Plymouth Ave were entered and items including a cell phone and GPS were taken.  A 3rd vehicle on Plymouth Avehad damage to the door lock but no entry was made to the vehicle.  A 4th vehicle on Madison Ave had damage to the door lock and a bag was taken from the vehicle.

June 12, 2012: Motor Vehicle Theft; During the evening hours of 06/12 a 2000 Audi A6 was stolen from a parking lot at 467 Valley St.  The vehicle was recovered on 06/14 in Irvington.

June 14, 2012: Thefts from vehicles; During the overnight hours of June 13th into the morning of June 14th, a citizen reported that two vehicles on Rutgers St were entered.  Both vehicles were unlocked and a GPS was removed from each of the vehicles.
