STRING OF 6 MOTOR VEHICLE BREAK-INS IN ONE NIGHT LEADS POLICE REPORT



And apparently other vehicle-related crimes were hot this week.

June 8-9, 2012: Thefts from vehicles; During the overnight hours of June 8th into the morning of June 9th, several unlocked vehicles were entered and items including documents, an Ipod charger and a GPS unit were taken from the vehicles.  The six vehicles that were entered were located on Madison Ave, Midland Blvd, Boyden Ave, Burr Rd, Baldwin Rd, and Highland Ave.  Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity.

June 4, 2012: Motor Vehicle Theft; DCH Audi of Millburn Ave, reported that a vehicle was just stolen off of a car carrier at the dealership.  The vehicle was still in shipping plastic and struck a parked vehicle while fleeing the scene.  The 2013 Audi All Road was recovered a short while later after being abandoned on Springfield Ave.  The vehicle was parked behind a business and left unoccupied.  The detective bureau processed the vehicle for evidence.

June 6, 2012: Motorcycle Theft; A 2009 Honda CBR was stolen from in front of a Boyden Ave residence. The victim was home and heard a motorcycle outside.  He looked outside and observed a male on the stolen motorcycle being pulled by another individual operating a black motorcycle.  He attempted to follow the two motorcycles in another vehicle but lost site of them as they fled East on Springfield Ave.

June 6, 2012: Motor Vehicle Theft; A Jeep Wrangler was stolen out of the parking lot of a Parker Ave Church.  Investigation revealed that the vehicle was taken at approximately 1230 AM and fled East onto Clinton Ave.  The vehicle was recovered in Irvington on June 7th with damage to the ignition.
