A GRINCH STRIKES, AND A FEW CAR THEFTS

This week's police blotter found a few auto thefts and at least one bah humbugger who ripped off some front yard holiday decorations:

January 1, 2013; Theft; A New England Rd resident reported that sometime overnight, Christmas decorations were removed from the front yard of the residence.

Also from the cops:


December 31, 2012; Theft from Auto; A Coolidge Rd resident reported that an unlocked vehicle was entered sometime over the last two days. Paperwork associated with the vehicle was reportedly removed.

January 1, 2013; Burglary; At 930 PM; a Lindsley Ave resident reported that a basement window had been entered and phone and laptop were removed from the basement room.

January 1, 2013; Motor vehicle Theft; An Orchard Rd resident reported that sometime within the last day, their GMC Envoy was removed from their driveway.

January 4, 2013; At 730 PM, A motor vehicle accident was reported at Van Ness Terr and Berkley St.  Upon officers arrival, it was discovered that a stolen Chrysler Town and Country had collided into a parked Mercedes.  The driver of the stolen vehicle was observed fleeing on foot into Irvington by a witness, but was unable to be located.

January 6, 2013; Motor Vehicle Theft; The owner of a multifamily home on Harding St reported that his keys were missing along with his Honda Accord.  The vehicle was reported stolen and later recovered by East Orange Police Department being operated Shamiyah Bryan, age 18 of East Orange.
