MAPLEWOOD ONLINE CENSORSHIP CONTINUES - UPDATE: DISCUSSION NOW OPEN

UPDATE - MOL has opened up comments for the thread at issue and allowed me back on to keep updates. Kudos to them.

Maplewoodonline continues its censorship of talk about the latest news story that has gotten a lot of attention, the alleged assault at St. James Gate.

When yet another thread was posted, comments were not allowed as seen below.

Kudos
  • Glad to see Mr. Meade's response to what "reportedly" happened at the Gate last week. I hope that all involved get the help they need.
Commenting not allowed.

MOL and Jamie Ross are not only doing a disservice to those who wish to use MOL for free discussion and information, but engaging in out and out censorship of ideas, choosing to remove those residents, including me, whose views they do not agree with or want discussed.

Worse, they allow personal attacks and slanderous comments to remain on the site.

  1. Do you get the picture yet? It isn't for the residents of Maplewood to discuss issues as adults. It is a forum for approved topics of discussion. They are the tyramt and the users are the subjects. MOL has always had juvenile subject matters, slander, and cases of cyber-bullying. All of this is appropriate for MOL, but bewared, speaking negatively of the admin's friends and mishandlings of the Maplewood Police will be deemed inappropriate and censored.

Why is anyone surprised? The quality of that website is utter crap.

  2. Are you saying The Gate is a conflict for Jamie and Dave Ross? That would be interesting.

  3. Not at all. MOL must have a tie to St James Gate and/or the proprietors? My confusion starts with the censorship of this incident. There have been pages and pages of MOLers question the authenticity of the size of the Gate's pint. Those articles, albeit have little to no substance to their post, still exist.

MOL has had their posters say slanderous things in the past.

What about this incident is so unsettling, that has MOL very active in preventing this story from reaching the community

  5. Maplewood online are hypocrites. They won't allow a conversation about a beating in the community to take place on the forum, but allow people to bash and shit talk other business's and people. Jamie must be in bed with st James gate.
