TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE SPLIT VOTE APPROVES BEER GARDEN; CHICKENS AND GENERATOR ALSO PASS

The Township Committee, in a split vote, approved having a beer garden at Maplewoodstock for the second year in a row Tuesday night.

The TC voted, 3-2, to allow the beer garden, which serves beer in an enclosed area during the annual two-day summer event, barring the drinks from being removed. Township Committee Members India Larrier and Marlon Brownlee voted against the proposal.

Meanwhile, the TC voted unanimously, 5-0, to approve spending about $37,000 for a new emergency power generator and to allow up to 15 homes to raise chickens.
