2013-2014 Budget Workshop Update

The Board of Education held a special Budget Workshop on February 20, 2013.

Cheryl Schneider, Business Administrator and Board Secretary, presented an overview of the budget development process, highlighting the alignment of the budget to the district goals, indicating the amount needed to be reduced, where the reductions were made, and the tax impact of the Superintendent’s recommended budget.  The PowerPoint presentation is available here.

The Superintendent asked the Board to consider using some of the available banked cap to purchase technology in preparation for new, state mandated student assessments.  The Board is considering all of the information presented, including this request, and will be discussing the budget at the regular Board meeting on Monday, February 25, 2013.
