TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE APPROVES POOL FEE HIKE FOR EARLIER START

Maplewood Township Committee on Tuesday voted, 4-1, to open the Maplewood Pool earlier, on Memorial Day weekend, and charge residents another $30 per year.

This comes after the average fee for pool memberships jumped 30% to cover costs of renovations and the new slides last year.

Mayor Vic De Luca, who voted for the one-year pilot program increase, cited a survey done by the Township Pool Committee that he said indicated most residents were in favor of the move.

TC member India Larrier was the lone opposing vote. A final vote on the proposal is set for March 5.
