COPS CATCH HUBCAP THIEF, REPORT OTHER AUTO-RELATED CRIMES

This from Maplewood Police today:


April 12, 2013; Theft of Auto Parts; At approximately 0840 AM, patrols responded to the area of Highland Pl.  Witnesses had observed a male remove the center hub caps from a Cadillac Escalade parked in the lot and flee in a silver BMW.  Officer Brian Rodriguez was responding to the area and observed a vehicle matching the description given.  The officer conducted an investigatory stop of the suspect vehicle on Maplewood Ave.  The driver, Nick Demas, age 35 of Vauxhall was identified as the actor in the theft and found to be in possession of the stolen property.  He was taken into custody and charged appropriately.  He was later released on bail from MWPD Headquarters.

April 13, 2013; Theft from Auto; During the daytime hours, a theft from a vehicle on Woodland Rd occurred.  The vehicle was parked in the parking lot of the Woman’s Club on Woodland Rd and was found by it’s owner to have a broken window and radio equipment missing.

April 14, 2013; Theft; A vehicle that was parked on Brown St had it’s license plates removed sometime during the morning hours.
