OUR STATE OFFICIALS HIDE DONORS BETTER THAN ANY OTHER STATE

Great Star-Ledger analysis finds politicians in New Jersey can keep their donors secret easier than any other state:

TRENTON — Politicians in New Jersey can receive more money while still keeping the names of their donors secret than those in any other state in the nation, masking the origins of millions of dollars in campaign contributions every year, a Star-Ledger analysis has found.

Most states allow campaigns to keep secret only those donors who give $100, $50 or even less, according to a survey of election finance laws, and at least a half a dozen require them to make public the names of all donors. But in New Jersey, campaigns do not have to report any information about people who contribute $300 or less.

  1. I think our local officials are lining their pockets and failing to maintain the hard won good that was done, up to 20 years ago. They complain about the West Nile Mosquitos but they refuse to ensure there is proper dainage. There are areas of the town that have easements that require the homeowners to maintain drainage, many of these have been blocked or filled in, this in turn is causing some of our mosquito problems. This is poor management and there is much more wrong with this than just mosquitos, there are also dual standards of enforcement of the codes and shady backroom meetings where the act as judge, jury and executioners. They use the police as thugs to bully whomever they choose. One group with shared goals.
Maplewood is getting conned, these are not idealistic Democrats they are a group who will destroy this Eden and line their pockets in the process.
