AMBULANCE FEE TO GO UP TO $800 PER INCIDENT

The charge for an ambulance to respond to your needs will increase from $600 per trip to $800 if a proposal being introduced Tuesday night is approved.

The increase marks the first price hike in four years, the last in 2009.

As in the past, the fee is only charged if insurance or Medicare is paying the bill.

First Aid Squad responses, meanwhile, remain free, but account for only a small portion of such needs.

See the proposal HERE.
