SIX THEFTS IN A WEEK LEAD POLICE REPORT

From Maplewood Police Today:

June 11, 2013: Attempt Robbery;  At approximately 5:00 PM, two juveniles attempted to grab a cell phone from a 25 year old female Maplewood Resident. This occurred  on Parker Ave near Orchard Park. The victim was able to ward off the attempted theft and the juveniles fled East on Woodside Rd. The victim was uninjured.

June 11, 2013: Theft; During the early morning hours two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a residence on Van Ness Terr were entered and loose change was removed.

June 12, 2013:Theft; Sometime within the two previous days, a catalytic converter was remove from a U-Haul truck parked at a business on Newark Way.

June 14, 2013: Burglary; At approximately 0945 Hrs, a resident of Ohio St reported that a juvenile was observed in her home.  When officers responded the juvenile had already fled the scene.  Damage was found to a window which is believed to be the entry point.  The area was checked by Maplewood and Union officers, but the juvenile was unable to be located.

June 14, 2013: Theft; Sometime during the last day a radio was removed from an unlocked vehicle parked on Hillcrest Rd.

June 14, 2013: Theft; During the daytime hours a locked bicycle was stolen from the Train Station.

June 14, 2013: Motor Vehicle Theft; Between 1:00 and 6:00 AM a Chrysler Voyager was stolen from in front of a Laurel Ave residence.

June 15, 2013: Theft; During the early morning hours an unlocked vehicle on Henry Pl and an unlocked vehicle on Jacoby St were entered and cigarettes and a wallet were reported missing.


June 17, 2013: Theft; During the daytime hours a bicycle was stolen from the train station.  The bicycle was locked to the rack in the morning.
