APPLICANTS LINE UP EARLY FOR FIREFIGHTER JOB

Job applicants were lined up early this morning at the Maplewood Fire Headquarters to put their names in the running for an EMT/firefighter position

The notice of the job opportunity is below:

Applications for Maplewood Fire Department FIREFIGHTER/EMT will be available from July 23rd to August 27th at Maplewood Fire Headquarters - 105 Dunnell Road, Maplewood, NJ. Applications will not be mailed and must be picked up in person. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, 18 to 35 years of age, possess a High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate and have a valid New Jersey Drivers License. 

In addition, candidates must be a Certified Emergency Medical Technician at the time of appointment and must obtain Firefighter 1 Certification within 6 months of appointment. Written and physical performance examinations will be conducted by the New Jersey Career Fire Chiefs Association. Should the number of applicants exceed 175, the written and physical performance examinations will be limited to the first 175 applicants who return completed applications. 

An application fee of $85.00 is required and payable upon return of completed application. Application fee will be waived for those applicants showing proof of receiving General Assistance, A.F.D.C. or S.S.I. The filing deadline for receipt of completed applications shall be 4:00 PM on August 27, 2013. The Township of Maplewood is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
