TEEN ASSAULT AND ROBBERY AND SEVERAL BURGLARIES MARK POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police today:

August 20, 2013: Robbery; Around 1030 PM, a fifteen and sixteen year old male report that they were approached by three males in their late teens and robbed of their cell phones on West Parker Ave, near Dunnell Rd.  The actors reportedly requested to use the phones and then began walking away with them.  One of the actors assaulted one of the juveniles by punch him when the juvenile attempted to follow him to get his phone back. The actors then fled.

And in other crime:

August 19, 2013: Auto Theft; Over the weekend a Dodge Caravan parked in the lot of 50 Burnett Ave was stolen.  It was recovered in Newark the day after the
report.

August 19, 2013: Attempt Auto Theft; During the overnight hours a Dodge Caravan parked in the driveway of a Lexington Ave residence sustained damage consistent with an attempted theft.

August 20, 2013: Burglary; At approximately 230 PM a resident of Brookwood Dr returned home and observed a juvenile exiting the rear of their home with the residence belongings.  The resident chased the juvenile and with the help of neighbors caught the fourteen year old juvenile who was found to be a resident of Irvington.  The police responded and took the juvenile into custody and charged him with burglary. 

August 23, 2013: Burglary; Between 10 and 1130 AM, a residence on Revere Ave was entered. Cash and a Nook tablet were reportedly stolen.

August 23, 2013: Burglary; At approximately 1200 PM, a resident of Taranto Court observed two males in their late teens inside their home.  Once observed, the actors fled the home.  Police responded and searched for the actors, but were unsuccessful in locating them.
