CHS BLOWS OUT KEARNY IN OPENING FOOTBALL GAME

Columbia High School football blew out Kearny in their opening game Saturday night, with a powerful 37-0 win, for a great debut.

The Star-Ledger reports:

Jimmy Martinez rushed for three touchdowns and threw for another as Columbia defeated Kearny, 37-0, yesterday in Kearny.
Martinez ran for two TDs in the first quarter and broke a 46-yard TD run in the second quarter to give Columbia a 21-0 lead at the half.
Columbia would get a safety and Kinbu Jones' 7-yard TD run in the third quarter, then Martinez tossed a 12-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter.

The next game is next Saturday against Irvington. Go Cougars!
