NJ.com reports:

ORANGE — The man shot and killed in the south end of town Tuesday night was identified as a Maplewood man.

Marving Dauphin, 23, was shot and killed on Laurel Street around 8:30 p.m., said Katherine Carter, a spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities have not revealed a motive or identified a suspect in the slaying.
Laurel Street is a tiny residential street off Scotland Road in the southern end of the city – blocks away from the borders of both South Orange and West Orange.
The killing is the first since the July 30 murder of Isa Range on North Day Street.
