MAPLEWOOD TO HOLD MARRIAGE EQUALITY DAY MONDAY - COUPLES WANTED

Maplewood township is taking the first day of legal same-sex weddings on Monday to a complete celebration.

The day's events are listed below:

 
Marriage Equality Monday in Maplewood

Monday, October 21st

11:30am - Pre-Wedding Ceremony with music, comments and the raising of the Rainbow Flag

12:00pm - The first same sex marriage will take place in the meeting room of the Municipal Building, 574 Valley Street. Anyone is invited to witness this historic event, which also will be broadcast live on cable FIOS Channel 24 and Comcast Channel 35. Mayor Victor De Luca officiating.

Monday afternoon Weddings - No appointment needed - any couple in New Jersey can come by to be married - do not need to be Maplewood residents - must have a marriage license and have met the 72 hour waiting period if applicable or received a judicial waiver

5:00pm - Group Wedding Ceremony on the steps of the Maplewood Memorial Building - open to any couple in New Jersey
