SPECIAL REPORT: THE TEACHER THE DISTRICT WANTED TO FIRE BUT COULDN'T

A Maplewoodian.com investigation into a new Maplewood Middle School teacher finds that the district wanted to fire him last year for actions it deemed unacceptable during his previous position at Columbia High School, but was blocked due to state tenure protections.

While he was suspended for 120 days, Wayne Calandriello deserved to lose his job, the district contends. But he was not let go and found a new position at MMS this year. This has drawn concern among parents and students at the school who have been learning since September via the web about who he is.

See the story HERE.
