At around 1 AM, this morning there was a report from an anonymous caller of hearing what sounded like gun shots in the area of Franklin Ter and Laurel Ave. Officers responded and checked the area. While in the area they heard what sounded like fireworks but were unable to locate where they came from.
Yesterday, 7/17 a little before 10 PM a Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Jerome Fernandes of Union struck a tree at Boyden Ave and Harding St. Officers on scene suspected that the operator was under the influence. He was transported to University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and issued a summons for driving while intoxicated.
