SIX CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR SCHOOL BOARD THIS FALL

The deadline to file for the upcoming Board of Education election was Monday and when it came and went, six candidates had formerly entered the race for three open seats, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office.

They include Donna Smith and Elissa Malespina of South Orange and Elizabeth Baker, Maureen Jones, Godwin Molokwu, and Anthony Mazzocchi of Maplewood.

The six challengers will vie for the three seats up for grabs in this year's election set for November 5. Those seats are held by Andrea Wren-Hardin, Bill Gaudelli and Sandra Karriem, each of whom is not running again.

The deadline to file was 4 p.m. on Monday.
