When a scary MRSA infection struck last spring, Zach was hit with more than just a difficult medical problem. The dangerous affliction hospitalized him for weeks and sent him into a coma for days.
Only after agonizing weeks of painful recuperation and therapy, that continues today, did Zach beat a true deadly battle. While he still has to undergo rehabilitation and difficult routines, Zach has come out on top.
His courage, strength and inspiration have earned him our first-ever Maplewoodian of the Year.
