SCHOOL BOARD TO ADOPT BUDGET TONIGHT

The Board of Education is set to introduce the 2015-2016 proposed district budget tonight at 7:30 p.m.

SCHOOL DISTRICT OF SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOOD, NEW JERSEY PUBLIC BOARD MEETING

 APPROVE 2015-2016 PRELIMINARY BUDGET                

                                                             
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the South Orange and Maplewood Board of Education approves the Preliminary Budget for the 2015-2016 school year in the amount of:

	BUDGET	TAX LEVY
General Fund	$117,400,519	$109,024,377
Debt Service	$ 4,119,440	$3,688,091
Special	$1,964,321	_________

            TOTAL                                       $123,484,280                  $112,712,468

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the South Orange and Maplewood Board of Education establishes a maximum travel expenditure for the 2015-2016 school year  not to exceed the amount of $150,000.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the South Orange and Maplewood Board of Education authorizes the Business Administrator to submit the 2015-2016 

Preliminary Budget to the County Superintendent for review and approval.          
BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The 2015-2016 Preliminary Budget is submitted to the County Superintendent for his approval for the official advertisement of the budget statement.  The Public Hearing to approve the budget is scheduled for Monday, April 27, 2015.
