CAR FLIPS OVER ON SPRINGFIELD AVENUE, ROAD CLOSED, ONE HOSPITALIZED

UPDATE: Springfield Avenue re-opened.

At least one person was hospitalized Friday morning when their car hit a parked vehicle and flipped over on Springfield Avenue near Oberlin, requiring rescue crews to cut the driver out of the vehicle and closing the busy roadway from Oberlin to Rutgers Street.

The incident occurred at about 11:45 a.m. when, witnesses say, the vehicle traveling west struck the parked car and flipped over. The unidentified victim was taken to Unversity Medical Center in Newark.
