POT BUST, ACCIDENT LEAD POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police today:


April 23, 2015; CDS Arrest; At approximately 8:35 PM, Officer Alvarez
observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at 44th St and Jacoby St.
He conducted a motor vehicle stop of the vehicle. While speaking with
the driver, Officer Alvarez observed a small ziplock bag in the vehicle
that appeared to contain marijuana. The driver, 25 year old, Yvon
Raymond of Maplewood was issued a summons for the Motor Vehicle
violation and arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams.

On Friday, April 24th 2015 at approximately 11:34 a.m., Officers from the Maplewood
Police Department responded to the area of 1812 Springfield Avenue for a report
of an overturned vehicle. Officers determined the vehicle had been traveling
west on Springfield Avenue and struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle on the
north side of the roadway and then came to be overturned in the roadway.

The driver, a 52 year old female, was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters
from the Maplewood Fire Department. She was subsequently transported to
University Hospital for evaluation and treatment of non life threatening injuries.
No further details regarding her condition are available at this time.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle and the cause of the crash is
being investigated.
