SCHOOL BOARD TO APPROVE $123 MILLION BUDGET TONIGHT WITH AVERAGE $177 TAX HIKE

The Board of Education tonight plans to approve a $123 million budget for the 2015-2016 school year, which will include an estimated average tax increase of $177 for Maplewood residents.

The budget represents an increase from the current year's $121.5 million budget.

The Township budget, which was introduced earlier this month, estimated a $97 average increase for homeowners. That means Maplewood property tax payers would see an average $274 tax increase this year. And that does not include whatever the county does.
