TOWNSHIP HOLDING SENIOR CITIZEN CENSUS

The Township is seeking to conduct a senior citizen census, Township Committee Member India Larrier announced at Tuesday's meeting.

She said the Township is asking residents who are 55 or older to fill out a form that will be available at De Hart Community Center, Town Hall and at the main library.

"If you would, if you are a senior, 55 or older, we are being liberal in what we consider a senior," Larrier said. "We are also taking steps through other avenues to try to identify all of our seniors in town so we can run adequate programming for them and find out what their needs are."

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Maplewood has 5,476 residents who are 55 or older, about 18% of the Township population.

Let's see what the Township census finds.
