Mayor Deluca performed first gay wedding in Maplewood

Mayor Vic Deluca, who has been one of the leaders statewide on gay marriage rights and led a historic day of same-sex weddings in 2013, issued this statement today on the Supreme Court ruling that declared same-sex marriage legal:

We are having a marriage equality decision day rally in front of townhall at 6:30pm. I think this is a great ruling for civil and human rights. Now same sex couples will be treated equally across America and their right to legally marry will not be based on a zip code. As we rejoice today, the struggle will continue to fight back against the more than 100 proposed state laws that will continue to erode the rights of same sex couples.
