GAS STATION ARMED ROBBERY LEADS POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police today:

May 31, 2015;
Robbery; At approximately 9:30 PM two male approached the attendant of the Delta Gas Station on Valley St. The males displayed a handgun and
demanded the money. They then fled North on Valley St.


May 25, 2015; Attempted Auto Theft;At approximately 4:15 PM a
heavy set male was observed attempting to steal a Nissan Sentra parked
on Ohio St.  The male fled the area prior to the police being contacted.
Upon the officers arrival it was discovered that the vehicle had
damage to it’s ignition.

May 27, 2015; Thefts from Vehicles;
During the day two vehicles on Harding St were observed being entered by a male wearing a tank top.  A GPS unit was also reportedly stolen from an unsecured vehicle on Gifford Ct.

May 29, 2015; Theft from Vehicle; At approximately 2:45 PM a male was observed 
entering a unsecured vehicle on Meadowbrook Rd.  The police responded and were 
able to locate the subject. He attempted to flee from officers, but was taken into 
custody after a foot chase. He was identified as Charles Villanueva, age 21 of 
Irvington. At the time of his arrest he was found to be in possession of a large amount of change.

May 30, 2015;
Bicycle Theft; At approximately 1:30 AM, a resident of Midland Blvd
observed a male removing a bicycle from his garage. Officers responded
to the area but were unable to locate the subject.
