BIG LIBRARY EVENTS: PRE-SCHOOL CRAFTS TO BLOOD SCREENING

Preschool Storytime & Craft

11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Main Library * Ages 2 1/2 – 5 * Stories and activities to encourage reading readiness.

Overlook Van Blood Glucose Screening

12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Hilton Branch – Find out if you are at risk for diabetes with a free blood glucose screening. Educational materials and individual counseling will also be provided. Drop in.  (Additional charge of $10 if HbA1c screening is desired.)  Free Blood Pressure Screening is included.

Kids Create @ HB

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Hilton Branch *  Ages 6-12 * Thurs @3pm  DROP IN
7/2: Celebrate the 4th with heroes & a fireworks painting.
7/9: Hear some stories about animal heroes & make a collage
7/16: Make ice cream and hear stories about sports heroes!
7/30:  Stories about the Trojan War & make a Trojan horse.

Lego Club

Create Space – Maplewood Library’s Makerspace is Open!

5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Hilton Branch – Every Tuesday  and Thursday 5:00-8:00 pm.  Patrons can use Rhino 3D software to build a model, print an object on our 3D printer or use our new color printer or laminator.  There are also Snap Circuits, Squishy Circuits, littleBits and SparkFun kits for the kids. The Joys and Challenges of Genealogical Research

7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Main Library – Experienced genealogical researcher Barbara Velazquez will discuss research methods to help you on your journey of discovery. She will recount her own experience and challenges, and will share stories and anecdotes.
Barbara Velazquez has  been a genealogical researcher for 15 years. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists. Drop in.
