MAPLEWOOD MAN KILLED IN EAST ORANGE SHOOTING

From NJ.com:

A Maplewood man was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting that broke out late Sunday night, authorities said.

Ahmad Crudup, 22, was pronounced dead at University Hospital just before midnight, about half an hour after the incident on the 200 block of South Clinton Street in East Orange, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and East Orange Police Chief William Robinson said in a statement.

Three other men, all in their early twenties, were also hospitalized after being injured during the shootout. Their wounds are considered non-life threatening, according to Thomas Fennelly, a chief assistant prosecutor with the county's homicide unit.
Fennelly declined to identify the surviving victims, citing "security reasons" and an ongoing investigation by the prosecutor's office's Major Crimes and Homicide Task Force.

No arrests have been made, and authorities have offered no information on any potential suspects or motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Task Force detectives at (877) 847-7432 or (973) 621-4586.
