ABLE BAKER EXPANSION APPROVED BY PLANNING BOARD, BUT MORE TO COME

The Able Baker moved a step closer Thursday to expanding its Maplewood Village business into the space next door with the Planning Board unanimously approving a plan to break down the wall and take over the former Dempsey Chiropractic space.

Owner Julie Pauly said the approval followed a special morning Planning Board meeting where she detailed the plans and answered questions.

Pauly said the next step is seeking building permits for the construction, which she expects to begin after the holiday season so as not to interfere with business during that time. She hopes to be completed in early 2016.

See the specific plans below:

Pauly said the expansion is aimed at providing more room for her cakes, cupcakes and cookies to be created, while also adding a new walk-in refrigeration unit. No big menu changes are planned.
