MORE DETAILS ON CHS ROBBERIES, AND AN UNRELATED BURGLARY, MARK POLICE WEEK

We told you last week about the two robberies of Columbia High School students near campus.

The Maplewood police today issued this report with some new details.

October 22, 2015; Robbery;  On 10/22/15, Officers responded to Columbia High School where they met with 2 15 year old male students who reported being the victim of a robbery while walking to school. 

Initial information received:  Between 7am and 7:15 am, the students were walking on West Parker Avenue and were approached by the actor as they were passing Buckingham Gardens Parkway.  The actor demanded the victims’ cell phones and money and threatened to shoot them if they did not comply.  No weapon was shown however, the possession of a weapon was implied by the actor. No injuries were reported.

The actor was described as a black male, possibly in his 20’s, approximately 6’ in height, muscular build, irregular teeth, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with a black North Face fleece.

A second possible actor was observed standing near a black vehicle parked on Buckingham Gardens Parkway.  The possible actor is described as a black male, approximately 5’ 10” in height with a regular build wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.  The vehicle was described as a black 4 door vehicle.

This incident is currently under investigation and there is no further information at this time.

October 22, 2015; Attempted Robbery; During the evening two victims reported they they were the victims of an attempted robbery while walking to school at approximately 7:15 AM.  Both victims are CHS students and are males 13 and 14 years of age.  The victims were walking to school on West Parkers Ave when they were approached from behind by two actors.  Actor one threatened to kill them if they ran and demanded their cell phones.  No weapon was shown or implied during the incident.  No injuries were reported.

Actor 1 who spoke to the victims is described as a black male, approximately 16 years of age, approximately 5’7” in height, with short black hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front and newer style basketball sneakers.

Actor 2 who did not speak during the incident is described as a black male, approximately 5’9” in height wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.  There was no vehicle observed by the victims.


This incident is currently under investigation and there is no further information at this time


Also this event as well:

October 20, 2015; Burglary; During the daytime hours a residence on the 500 block of Irvington Ave was entered.  Electronics and jewelry were reportedly stolen from the home.
