Anyone who will be at least 13 years old as of April 30, 2016 is eligible to be an umpire for SOM Baseball Minors, Majors, and Babe Ruth League games. Completion of “Youth Umpiring 2016” qualifies students for a preference of game assignments and $5 extra per game. Students must attend 4 sessions (there will be one make-up session).
Cadet Umpiring 2016
Saturdays, January 30 and February 6, 20, 27
9:30 am-12:30 pm at The Baird
Umpires who attended in 2015 must attend again in 2016 to receive the preference and the additional $5/game.
An advanced class will be held this year for returning umpires who meet all of the following eligibility requirements:
· You must be in High School
· You must have successfully completed AT LEAST the 2014 AND 2015 Umpire Clinics
· Have prior experience umpiring in the “Major League” Division
Advanced Youth Umpiring
Mondays, February 1, 8, 22, March 1
7:30-9:00 pm at The Baird
The Advanced clinic will be in lieu of the Saturday clinic and will qualify these umpires for the additional $5 per game and preferential scheduling. Acceptance into the advanced class may be limited.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Advance registration is being accepted for both classes at The Baird. The fee is $5.00.
