DELUCA: TOWNSHIP READY FOR "LIKELY" NJ TRANSIT STRIKE

Mayor Vic Deluca said the Township is already planning for ways to help commuters in the event of a potential NJ Transit strike next month.

Deluca said such a strike seemed "likely," and the Township was working to find ways to help, citing a possible park and ride option in town.

“We’re on top of it and we’ll see what we can do," he said at Tuesday night's Township Committee meeting. "We are kicking around some ideas to try to help people get to New York if in fact the trains don’t run. That’ll be some time in mid-March."

He later added, "In my conversations with NJ Transit, this seems likely that this could happen. There’s a lot of planning that has to go into effect, there is just no way they can get all of these folks in by bus.”
