VALLEY STREET ROADWORK AND SHUTDOWNS CONTINUE MONDAY

The traffic disruptions that backed up cars and forced many vehicles on to side streets last week will continue Monday, according to Maplewood Police.

Because of Friday's rain, the New Jersey American Water work on Valley Street between Tuscan Road and Millburn Avenue will resume on Monday, 9 a.m. to 4 a.m.

See the notice below:

Valley St will be closed due to work by NJ American Water between Tuscan Rd and Millburn Ave. Vehicles will be detoured onto Prospect St, Millburn Ave and Springfield Ave. This will cause additional traffic in the immediate area as well as increased traffic on Springfield Ave. The work will typically last from approximately 9 AM to 4 PM as long as no unexpected obstacles are encountered. During this time frame, there may be limited access to Tuscan School on Harvard Ave after morning drop off until approximately 3 PM. It is recommended that you plan an alternate route to avoid this area if possible. The road will be reopened following the construction daily.
