MAPLEWOOD DINER TO RE-OPEN TODAY

The Maplewood Diner, which closed five years ago after a fire, is set to re-open today with a new owner, menu and spanking renovated location.

Co-owner George Filippatos gave a small group of local business owners and township officials a sneak peak Thursday night with a tasting menu that included salad, seafood, steak and some great desserts.

Among those enjoying the vittles was Mayor Vic Deluca, Township Committeeman Greg Lembrich, and Police Chief Robert Cimino.

Filippatos, a veteran area restaurateur, said the 24-hour establishment at Chancellor and Springfield avenues will be open bright and early today and hopes to make it a success.

Give it a try!
