FORMER CHS GRADUATE CHOSEN NEW MMS PRINCIPAL

Dara Gronau
The Board of Education on Monday night appointed Dara Gronau, a Columbia High School graduate and veteran administrator in Newark and Ridgewood, to be the new principal at Maplewood Middle School.

Gronau replaces Jerrill Adams, who resigned in June after less than two years on the job. She was one of two finalists for the position who met with parents last week at a meet and greet. The other finalist was Kevin Mason, assistant principal at Tuscan School.

Gronau is a 1998 CHS graduate and a member of the school's athletic hall of fame.

The board voted, 7-0, on the appointment, with Board Member Johanna Wright abstaining and Board Member Maureen Jones absent.
