Frye sent a letter home Friday that indicated an easing of such an approach and sought to make clear students could remain in a chosen activity or change their minds, adding no discipline would occur.

That policy follows an earlier requirement that parents picking up students show an I.D. That was reversed on Wednesday, but recently received coverage in The Star-Ledger.
