  Celebrate Maplewood Memorial Park
Saturday, October 15th
Maplewood Memorial Park has been designated as one of New Jersey’s Great Public Spaces by the NJ Chapter of the American Planning Association. According to the Association, “Memorial Park effortlessly blends the use and characteristics of a local park – where children meet and play – with high quality attractions that draw visitors from across the tri-state region.”

The Award will be presented on Saturday, October 15th at 2pm at the Maplewood Civic House, 124 Dunnell Road. All are welcome to attend.

Mayor Victor De Luca will give a welcome and accept the Award along with his colleagues from the Maplewood Township Committee. After additional remarks, there will be a walking tour through Memorial Park.

The 30 minute tour will end at the Maplewood Memorial Library with light refreshments. The Mayor will describe the Library for the Future Initiative, a vision that integrates the Maplewood Library with Memorial Park.

Guests are invited to stay for a live jazz performance at 3pm, which is part of the Library’s monthly Art and Music Reception Program.

The American Planning Association – New Jersey Chapter is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides leadership in the development of vital communities by advocating excellence in community planning, promoting citizen empowerment, and providing the tools and support necessary to meet the challenges of growth and change.
