CHIEF REVEALS CAUSE OF POLICE BUILDING EVACUATION

Police revealed that it was a "suspicious device" left in a bathroom at police headquarters that prompted the brief evacuation of the building on Thursday morning and shutdown a portion of Springfield Avenue for about 30 minutes.

Police Chief Robert Cimino told Maplewoodian.com that the device was found to be harmless, but the evacuation and closure of the road, from Boyden Avenue to Burnett Avenue, was done as a precaution.
