VIDEO: WATCH POLICE VS. FIRE IN THE SANDWICH-MAKING BATTLE AT WAWA

One of the most enjoyable parts of the big Wawa grand opening on Friday was the sandwich-making contest that pitted the Maplewood Fire Department against the Maplewood Police.

Refereed by Mayor Vic Deluca, the battle ended with the crews making a combined 76 sandwiches in three minutes that their respective departments later enjoyed for lunch.

The teams also each received $1,000 from Wawa, which they donated to The Valerie Fund and the St. Barnabas Medical Center Burn Unit.
