HILTON BRANCH CLOSED THIS WEEKEND FOR ASBESTOS REMOVAL, NEW WINDOWS COMING

From the Maplewood Library:

Hilton Branch will be closed April 8th and 9th for asbestos removal prior to the window replacement throughout the building.  The window replacement will start on Monday, April 10th in the local history center and is scheduled throughout April.  Although the building will remain open, areas will be blocked off to the public as the windows are replaced.

NOTICE OF ASBESTOS REMOVAL
MAPLEWOOD HILTON BRANCH LIBRARY

MAPLEWOOD, NJ
The removal of asbestos, in compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations is scheduled for the following area(s):
Maplewood Hilton Branch Library
  • Asbestos-Containing Exterior Window Caulk – Library Perimeter Windows.
The project is scheduled to start on Friday, April 7th, 2017, and be completed by end of day Sunday, April 9th, 2017.
All removal operations and related work will occur in the designated areas.  The work areas will be sectioned off during removal operations thereby limiting the access to the building entrances.  The areas outside the work areas will be monitored continuously with air samples throughout the project.  Results of air sampling will be provided to the Maplewood Township Engineering Department.
In order to complete the asbestos abatement work, the Hilton Branch Library will be closed to all patrons and programs during removal operations.  The library will re-open at the regularly scheduled time on Monday April 10th, 2017.
During this time, we ask for your cooperation in staying clear of the designated work areas.
