In an apparent reaction this is week's crime issues, Mayor Vic Deluca and Police Chief Robet Ciminio will hold a press event to discuss safety and police response to the recent home invasion, beating of a church employee and the double homicide on Northview Terrace.

Maplewood Township Public Safety Update

Maplewood Township’s Mayor Victor DeLuca and Police Chief Robert Cimino will hold a press conference on Friday March 16, 2012 at 11:00AM at the municipal building, 574 Valley Street, Maplewood. The mayor and police chief will take the opportunity to comment on recent developments in Maplewood and the steps the Township is taking to address the overall issue of public safety. The press conference will also be broadcast through the local access channels 24 (on FIOS) and 35 (on Comcast).

The event follows my earlier call today for police response and confidence in the township's efforts to respond.
