Asked what they were doing, one of the workers said they were outfitting it with alarms and had a contract to do the same to other township locations, including the main library.
When we emailed Township Administrator Joe Manning about the projects, he offered this email response:
We experienced some vandalism at the Shelter House in Maplecrest Park:someone(s) tried to force the door open and cracked a window. We filed a police report and decided to upgrade security. This was to include a electronic security system...
No major cost but I am away this week and don't have numbers.
