CHS FOOTBALL LOSES A TOUGH ONE TO IRVINGTON

Quarterback Rafael Nunez connected with Willie Barr for two touchdowns and Barr also ran in for a score as Irvington defeated Columbia, 35-6, yesterday at Underhill Field in Maplewood.
Nunez hit Barr with TD passes of 80 and 38 yards in the first quarter and Stefan Juste broke a 68-yard yard TD run in the second quarter to give Irvington a 20-0 lead at the half. Irvington scored twice in the third quarter on a 24-yard TD run by Barr and an 18-yard run by Deenell Fulton to pushed the lead to 32-0. Dino Santiague hit a 31-yard field goal for Irvington in the fourth quarter.
Columbia scored in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Eli Rivera. QB Jimmy Martinez rushed for 88 yards and Kiambu Jones had 55 yards rushing for Columbia.
