WHY DID THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE FAIL TO SHOW?

The Township Committee was suppose to have its regular Talk to the Township Committee meet and greet on Saturday from 9 a.m. to Noon at Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue.

But the governing body was a no-show, and no cancellation was given.

We reached out to all of the TC members to ask.

Marlon Brownlee said he was at his daughter's successful track meet performance for Temple University at the University of Pennsylvania's Philadelphia Classic (she won the 100 meter hurdles, Yay!).

India Larrier emailed that, "circumstances were such that we had to cancel," but did not say more.

Mayor Vic De Luca said he had a terrible cold and "could not risk standing in the cold and snow. Others had similar concerns about standing in the weather."

The remaining TC members did not respond. The Township website, which had promoted the event, did not announce the cancellation or offer a reason for the no-show.
